Caring for Brevard Community Service Days

Become a part of the Inaugural Health First “Caring for Brevard” team

Registration Forms & Information Packet

Everyone knows what an outstanding job Health First associates, physicians and volunteers do taking care of people at work. Now, here’s your chance to take that caring spirit beyond the Health First doorstep! Help improve our community and show how much Health First cares.

When?

This February will mark the start of Health First’s “Caring for Brevard” Community Service Days. For two days, Friday, February 19 and Saturday February 20, 2010, Health First associates, physicians and volunteers will donate their time to a variety of causes across Brevard County.

What projects?

During the two-day event, the Health First family will do various projects for local non-profit organizations such as the Brevard Health Alliance, the South Brevard Sharing Center and others. Among the proposed projects are:

  • Caring for Brevard’s landscape –trash pick-up, weeding, planting and mulching

  • Caring for Brevard’s buildings – pressure washing, sanding and painting

  • Caring for Brevard’s hungry – installing new shelving at a local food pantry

  • Caring for Brevard’s needy – sorting items for sale at local thrift stores

  • Caring for Brevard’s volunteers – providing tools/refreshments to volunteer sites

  • Caring for Brevard’s homeless – assembling cold weather packets for homeless

Another way to help is to donate items for the cold weather packets. The Health First Administrative Professionals (HAPN & CAPE) are coordinating the collection of items now through February. Look for containers to be set up in the three hospital cafeterias as well as the lunch rooms at HFHP and HFBC. Among the needed items are blankets (new or used, but clean with no holes), adult socks (calf or higher), sample size deodorants, soaps and toothpaste, manual can openers, tooth brushes, lip balm, and feminine products.

Whatever you choose, please get involved! Health First needs you to show our community how much we “Care for Brevard!”  Sign up today and donate a minimum of 4 hours.
